Compressed air is a very important energy source in industry, but it can be enormously expensive. Monitoring compressed air consumption is therefore essential in an energy efficiency and cost reduction programme.
This functional scheme describes Kerberos's proposal for monitoring and improving the efficiency of a compressed air system: involves the installation of a Communication Panel (QM122) to collect and send the data directly to the display platform, a panel to monitor electricity consumption (Panel 1) consisting of a Master ModBUS KET-RMB-211, a three-phase power meter KET-PMT-216 and current transformers (open/closed), and, directly on the plant, a flow meter of compressed air KET-MPA-000.
Thanks to the comparison of energy consumption and compressed air flow rate of the plant, it is possible to identify any leaks, to detect the waste from the plant operating outside working hours or to determine if the installed compressors are suitable for the type of work (under or oversized).
QM122 - Communication Framework
The Communication Panel is a switchboard with 12 DIN modules IP65, consisting of the router KET-MUM-100 that ensures connection even in the absence of a local area network and the gateway KET-GZE-220 that in addition to sending data to external platforms (such as X-Platform), has an internal SD memory that allows you to store data for long periods and a radio module X-MP.
Kerberos offers as additional services the preconfiguration of devices for easy and fast installation, SIM for annual data traffic at very attractive prices and the X-Platform Easy platform for data acquisition and visualization, configurable to your needs.
KET-RMB-211
It is a device with ModBUS Master function up to 32 slave profiles for the acquisition of both the measurement from the Power Meter and from the KET-MPA-000, equipped with radio module with X-Monitor Protocol, which can reach distances of over 1000 m in free air, for sending data directly to the gateway KET-GZE-220. It can be supplied pre-configured and inserted in the electrical panel (Panel 1).
Power Meter
Kerberos has a wide range of Power Meters: three-phase or single-phase, MID and non-MID certified, for current transformers or direct insertion.
The functional scheme diagram shows the KET-PMT-216, three-phase power meter for MID-certified current transformers, the most flexible in the range for your plants. It uses 6 ModBUS Slave profiles and therefore a maximum of 5 profiles can be connected for each ModBUS KET-RMB-211 Master. It can be supplied pre-configured and inserted in the electrical panel (Panel 1).
Current Transformers
Kerberos Amperometric Transformers are high precision, both with openable core (KET-TAA-000) and closed core (KET-TAC-000) with a wide range of models to meet all your needs.
KET-MPA-000
It is a flow meter for compressed air with in-line installation for small diameters (up to DN 40) or to insertion for larger diameters, in this case you can assemble and disassemble under pressure without interruption of the flow, safely with non-return protection. Equipped with RS485 port, it sends the measurements to the ModBUS Master KET-RMB-211.
